I will be in Venice for a few days. And then I have a flight to catch from Venice/Trieste to Prague.How far is the airport from Venice and are there direct buses or trains or even a boat to the airport.And how long will the journey be. I ask this, because I am a little old and do not want a last minute hassle with bags. Or would it be better to spend the night in Trieste an thus also see a new city. Any suggestion will be welcome. Thanks...Katie

Katie, you group Venice and Trieste together like they are close together and share some type of airport. Unfortunately, Venice and Trieste are 3hrs apart by train. If you are flying to Prague from Trieste, you are most likely on SkyEurope. Venice is magical but if you are flying out of Trieste, I suggest that you spend the previous night there in order to get to the airport on time.

How right you are Larry...I am flying by Sky Europe and did not realise the distance when I did the booking. And my ticket does say Venice/Trieste. Looking at the map I realised it was far!!. So am planing to stay over in Trieste for a couple of days and make the most of it. Thanks.
