Venice to Split

Hi, looking for suggestions please on the best and fastest way to travel from Venice to Split. We are planning our trip and were hoping to travel from Venice to Split but their doesn't seem to be many options that I can find. So far we have planned to stay in Lake Como then Castelrotto then on to Venice. we are planning to travel next June/July 2023 TIA
Kristin.

You can take the train to Ancona and then take the overnight ferry to Split.

There currently are no direct flights from Venice to Split. It’s possible that next year there could be such a flight but, for now, the two best flight options are flying on Austrian Airlines from Venice to Split in 3.5 hours with an hour layover in Vienna. The other best flight option is flying on Swiss Airlines from Venice to Split in 3:35 with a 45-minute layover in Zurich. These flights do not operate 7 days a week. You can check the flight options at www.Skyscanner.com

... but their doesn't seem to be many options

As you see from previous posts there are many options but they may not be as fast or as cheap as you would like.

If you love boat-travel during daylight there is the following option:
During summer time Venezian lines operates connections between Venice and the Istrian towns Pula, Rovinj and Porec. It’s about a 3 hours journey. Arrival from Venice is always late evening thus you would need an overnight stay in Pula.
From Pula there is a fast Catamaran operated by Kapetan Luka Krilo, that takes about 4:30h to Zadar.
From Zadar you would need to take the bus (about 2h) to Split.
As these services don’t operate daily good planning will be needed. Time schedule for Venice-Pula will not be available before April 2023.
In case you might consider to add one (or more) days for Istria, Mali Losinj (nice town on a beautiful Island between Pula and Zadar) or Zadar, then that route will make sense.

Otherwise rachele’s proposal looks most convenient to me.

Apologies for late reply to you all but thank you everyone for your feedback. As we are planning on a cruise once we arrive in split, we will likely take the faster option of flying. Now to make the decision to book now or wait and see if a direct flight is available next year, my only worry would be we may miss out on the flights available now. Love how much I pick up from this forum. thanks again
