Hi. We are heading to Paris from Venice. We will only have 3 nights in Paris so am wondering about the quickest way to go. Is the train worthwhile or better to just hop on a plane? Travelling mid October.
Thank you ๐จ๐ฆ
Fly! You already have no time to properly see Paris.
The train is 10 hours at best, with change in Milan, and probably more expensive.
Definitely fly. It's a 1:45 flight versus all day on the train.
If you can get into Orly (ORY) airport it is closer to the city so it is faster and cheaper to get into the city. Orly is generally served by lower cost, less frills airlines. Air France flies into Charles de Gaulle (CDG) but is a solid hour outside the city. Discount airlines tend to charge more for bags but also consider the cost - 55e for a taxi into Paris from CDG and time - when choosing a destination.
Venice and Paris are probably my two favorite European cities - enjoy!
=Tod
PS Chances are low but if you'll see a flight into Beauvais (BVA) - do not use - it is nowhere near the city.
Of course fly. Into Orly, preferably, but CDG would work too
Can someone tell me what carriers are cheaper to fly this than to take the train? I'm seeing nonstop flights for our date in July for 5 of us at over $1000USD, and that's just with a checked bag and non refundable.
Although the train schedule is not going that far out, taking the Freciarossa to Milan, then TGV to Paris is looking like $500 and in a nicer cabin.
I was using Expedia for the airfare prices...is there a better alternative?
Thanks!
Look at Google Flights. You can also see the whole month, with the lowest prices for each day, in case you have that kind of flexibility. Not knowing your date, I picked a random day in July and found 4 flights on different airlines under $500, and several more under $600, for 5 adults. And at less than 2 hours instead of over 11 hours, which in itself is worth money given the extremely short time you have available. However it is better to post your own thread to maximize answers, rather than hijacking someone else's thread.
pmorison-
Easy Jet and AirFrance both have direct flights
VCE to CDG
Be sure to read all the restrictions/requirements for Easy Jet
I prefer Google Flights

thanks and sorry for offending!
pmorosin, you didn't offend.
We just do things a little differently here.
Because creators of threads - OPs - get notifications of replies, but nobody else does, and similar questions in the same thread can wind up with mixed up answers, new questions are best in their own thread.
That way you get answers direct to you, and the OP gets theirs.
Nobody is rapping knuckles, or being offended, we just gently guide you to the best way to get your answers...
You can check nearby airports too, in this case, Verona. I flew from Verona to Paris.
We went in the opposite direction last spring. Easyjet. very affordable
