Greetings - we are heading to Venice today and when we arrive tomorrow plan to catch the bus to Padua per the info from RS. Just saw a post from someone who had their bag stolen once they loaded it on a bus and was wondering if any of you have done this route on the bus from Venice airport to Padua - is it a nonstop bus and were you able to bring your bag on the bus. Of course we have carry on! Thanks for any advice.
The bus does make some stops before arriving at Padua Bus station, next to the Padua train station. Assume your luggage will be in your lap if you carry it on, as you cannot take up another seat.
If you’re worried about your luggage, maybe you should just take the train where you can take your bags on with you.
There is no way to predict if your bag will be stolen or not on this bus or any other bus actually. I don't think it happens often
Your alternatives would be taxi to Mestre then take the train to Padua. Cheap, easy. and your bag is in your possession the whole trip.
My wife and I just did the trip from Venice to Padua 3 weeks ago to join a Rick Steves trip. We took the train from Venice to Padua then the tram from the Padua station to a 2 minute walk to our hotel. Very economical and easy. You keep your bags with you the whole time...so no worry about losing it.
