Venice to Ljubljana

We are booking the RS 14 day Best of the Adriatic for this Autumn, and would like to spend several days in Venice before joining the tour in Ljubljana. Train connections don’t look great, but what are better options? Bus? Plane?

When we went from Venice to Ljubljana several years ago, we used GoOpti. It's a shuttle that picked us up at Piazzale Roma and drove us to the station in Ljubljana. It can be slow though since it will drop other riders off at various locations along the way.

We were very happy with GoOpti- very dependable, prompt, and the drivers had great English. Have a great trip!

We also had a good experience with Go Opti. When you make a reservation, you can specify your level of flexibility with timing (the more flexible you are, the cheaper it is). We used them for an uneventful trip from Ljubljana to the Venice airport. We arrived at the airport on time without incident and I would use them again.

Another vote for GoOpti. We’ve used them twice in the past on that route and have them booked again for this September. Flixbus is another option. We haven’t used them, but you can check their website and see if they might work for you. Enjoy your tour.

We took the train from Treviso to Ljubljana.
Slow, but scenic.
I really enjoyed it.
