Venice to Interlaken train question

I'm looking at the train on May 10 leaving Venice S.L. at 8:12, arriving in Brig at 13:16. This is a great time of day for us. However, I can't book it (I believe because it has a regional train included). So how do I book this in advance to get a cheaper fare?

You should be able to do this but Trenitalia is blocking because the itinerary you choose starts with a Regionale to Mestre. The slower trains cannot be booked so far in advance. You can force the reservation though.
- Book Venezia S.L. to Milano (dp 8:32 ar 10:55)
- Book Milano to Brig (dp 11:25 ar 13:16)

When you get to Venezia, buy Regionale tickets for Ven S.L. to Ven Mestre. There are departures frequently: 7:49. 7:56. 8:05, 8:11.

Remember you have to print your Milano to Brig tickets! You will get a code to use in a kiosk to print the international portion which you can do in Venezia or in Milano. Only takes a couple of minutes unless the lines are long.

Laurel - would I do a similar thing to book Riomaggiore to Venice?

Possibly. The key is either Genova to Venezia or La Spezia to Venezia. Book those segments as you will connect via local (Regionale) from Riomaggiore. Just be sure there is a local at the time needed to connect to your "major city" starting point.
