Venice to Florence on 6 th July

Hello!

We want to go from Venice to Florence on the 6th July, but I've heard that there is a trenitalia strike and now we're really worried. Is there a bus Venice-Florence? Do you think I should still be able to take the train?

Don't worry. Trenitalia has an agreement with the unions that essential trains will keep running. What that means on most runs is that many train runs will not run but many will. There will be trains between Venice and Florence. The runs that will not be interrupted are listed on the Trenitalia website (in Italian).

I did not find the train from Venice to Florence on the list of trains that won't be interrupted. This is the reason of my concern. I don't have a plan B for this route.

I was in Italy this month and one day I was supposed to take the train from Pisa to Assisi. They chose to strike that day - yippe for me. I missed the first scheduled train to Florence but the 2nd one left on time. I didn't make it to Assisi but the trains from Florence to Rome were running too. I would assume there would be at least 1 or two Venice to Florence trains but you'll have to check the schedule while you are there.

Alot of the train strikes in Italy last only a couple of hours. No sense in worrying because there is nothing you can do about it.
