Venice to Erlangan Germany and Paris France

Just wondering what would be the best route and mode of transport. We plan to stay one night in or near Erlangan and 3-4 nights in Paris. I have looked at a train ride to Erlangan and also Paris from Venice. Both are long train rides. Is it possible to fly from Venice to Nuremburg and the train or bus to Erlangan? Or would it be better to do a day trip to Erlangan from Paris. It is hard for me to see which is best? Seems like going to Erlangan first then on to Paris makes the most sense. Please help :)

Erlangen is not a 'day trip' from Paris

Your thought to fly from Venice seems like the best way to go.

Seems like a long way to go for just one night between Venice and Paris.

Thanks Joe for help. We are going to Erlanganto visit where my husband was stationed in the Army in 1966. Not sure how much time we really need there but it is a must stop on this trip and part of the reason for our Europe trip.

There is lots of really nice scenery around Franconia. I like several days there whenever I have the chance. Is there a chance of a couple of nights there to take in what's there, and then Nuremberg to Paris? It must be possible - I haven't checked - to fly Venice to Nuremberg.

There is regular train service from Venice to Munich and Munich to Paris. Nuremberg is very easy from Munich.

According to skyscanner, there are no direct flights from Venice to Nuremberg. But there are fairly frequent flights into Munich. From there it's about 2 1/2 hours by train (sbahn from MUC to Hbh, train to Nuremberg, change there for last leg to Erlangen). After going to all that time and trouble, it would make sense to spend at least 2 nights (1 full sightseeing day) before moving on to Paris.

Franconia is the region of Bavaria around Nuremberg, northeast Bavaria if you will. It is culturally distinct from southern Bavaria. For one thing, they grow grapes and drink wine (Franken Wein) as well as beer. There are a lot of small breweries still operating.
