Venice to Cortina d'Ampezzo

Does anybody have any experience traveling from Venice to Cortina d'Ampezzo and back? I am thinking of renting a car to spend two nights in Cortina d'Ampezza. I will be flying out of Venice after that. I have driven in USA, Scotland, Germany and India so I think I can probably handle driving in Italy. I would appreciate any thoughts/advice/suggestions about the ease of the roads and sights to see. :-)

Easy.
The drive from Venice to Cortina is about 2 hours.
The next day from Cortina do this day trip. Enter these locations on Google maps Directions in this sequence:
CORTINA D'AMPEZZO
PASSO PORDOI
ORTISEI
CASTELROTTO
CORBARA
CORTINA D'AMPEZZO
take a good camera with you (and a GPS navigator)
