Has anyone ever taken the bus from Marco Polo to Cortina? We’re going to take in some Olympic sports in February. Also looking for recommendations for a place to stay near the airport for the night before going home. We won’t have a car so public transport is necessary.
It was before the pandemic, but I found the Cortina Express bus to be very efficient and cost effective. There were only a few hotels really near the airport then, and there seem to be a number more now based on Booking.com. Good luck.
I know there is a nice Courtyard by Marriott at the Venice airport. Probably not cheap, but compared to the prices you will experience in Cortina, it will be a major bargain.
Thanks for the quick response and excellent advice! Appreciate it!
There is also a Flixbus out of the airport.
We have stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott, and it is very nice, but expensive unless you are using points. Another choice is the nearby Best Western where our friend stayed and enjoyed.
We used Cortina Express in September. You can buy tickets and seat reservations on their website. Also, there are two nice Best Western hotels across from the Mestre train station. There are busses to the airport near the station.
