Hi, I'm visiting Venice in a couple of weeks. I'm planning a day trip to Verona and an overnight stay in Cinque Terre (Vernazza). Anyone know how long it takes by train to get to each place from Venice?
Thank you!

Sandra,
Could you clarify where you'll be going after your one night stay in Vernazza?
The trip from Venezia Santa Lucia to Verona Porta Nuova is as short as 1H:05M, depending on which train you choose.
Are you travelling to Vernazza from Verona or Venice?
You can obtain information on the trains at www.trenitalia.com (the Italian rail website).
Some additional information on your plans would be helpful!
Happy travels!
Sandra
I have booked a train from Venezia St. Lucia to Vernazza and it will take 5.5 hrs at least going by way of Verona to Milano to Monerossa(change trains to Vernazza- If you take off the l hour Ken said this leaves approx. 4 hours from Verona.
We will be based in Venice for our entire stay which is only a week. So we will be traveling from Venice to CT and back. I know that is a long train ride, but CT was highly recommended.
I recommend you plan your Vernazza trip for weekdays if possible - it (& the trails) can be teeming with tourists on weekends, especially as the weather gets warmer.
