My husband, two friends and I will be staying in Venice for a couple of days, then taking a cruise out of the dock in Chioggia. Does anyone have experience in using private transport or public transportation to get from Venice to the port in Chioggia? Advice is appreciated.

Thanks, I saw that but it is all about transport by water. I have read that gets very expensive and understand there are ways to get there on land, but have not found anything clear regarding it.

If you don't want to go by vaporetto, then you can go by bus plus taxi or train+bus+taxi . Train leaves from S. Lucia station. Bus leaves from P. Roma. Or you can hire a car service.
