Venice to Boston via Paris

We are flying from Venice to Boston on Air France with a connection in Paris. The flight is in the afternoon. How long will it take to get to the airport from the Mercato Rialto area? I guess we will be taking the vaporetto and then the bus.

How long should we allow for check-in (we will have checked bags) and passport line in Venice? Will we have to go through passport line/customs again in France when we are flying on the same airline (AF) on their published flight--just a change of planes? Thanks

Get to the VCE airport at least 1 hr prior to departure. The leg VCE- CDG is an intra EU Schengen therefore it works like a domestic flight in the US. There is no passport control in this leg, it's a domestic flight.
Once in Paris you will transfer to the terminal 2E for a US bound departure. You will go through passport control and security check (metal detectors) at terminal 2E.
CDG is huge and crowded at the security and passport control lines therefore the Paris transfer is what takes time, not the Venice departure.
