I'm confused about how to get timed tickets in advance to Doge's Palace (for October). On the website, you can buy a museum pass that you can use for up to 6 months that includes Doge's, Corrers Museum and some other places, but then there doesn't seem to be an option to book a timed ticket. If I choose just Doge's Palace, it will take me to a timed option but then it says I have to go to Corer's with a specific slot within 3 days (was planning 4 days later so that won't help me for Corrers, which I wasn't going to reserve in advance). Google seems to say that with a museum pass you can bypass the lines, but I'd prefer to get a time just in case. Is that what the deal is? You can't get a time with a pass? Maybe it's better not to get the pass then if that's the case, or do people think the pass is sufficient to avoid long lines?
The museum pass gives access without a reservation. I am planning to use the pass, but I am concerned we have to wait in a separate line causing entry delay. The absence of complaints in my research implies that is not a problem. I'm curious has anyone recently used the museum pass and has a better answer? For example, older info I found said the pass could only be used at the Doge's Palace after noon, but I don't find that on official sites.
It's been a while but I thought I remembered you could "buy" a free ticket on the website saying you had a museum pass and then prove it when you showed up. But I went through the options and the only free option is "Venice resident" as far as I could tell. Museum pass is listed as one of the free categories in the information but not on the ticket sales checkout.
If they have removed that option I don't know how else you could do it remotely. If it's a first day activity you could swing by and ask for details the door and see what it looks like. The tours congregate in the courtyard area and there is an entrance line so you could probably get some questions answered unless it is completely mobbed.
Enjoy Venice!

There are so many rules, and it's confusing.
What I found from the website "the holders of "THE MUSEUMS OF ST. MARK'S SQUARE" tickets without a specific entry time slot can access the Doge's Palace from 12:00 noon. I'm not sure about museum pass. I thought it could only be used for Doge Palace from noon also.
Since I may not have time to visit the other museums included in the museum pass, I decided to buy Secret Itinerary tour @ 10:00 which include a visit to Doge Palace, Correr museum, archeological museum and Marciana library.
Our visit this this Wednesday.
I plan to visit Correr museum after, and still have a question, if I can just show them my SI ticket :)
Thank you for the comments. If anyone is there/finds out, would love a report back. I may just book a timed ticket and skip the pass if I can't find out since I don't want to miss Doge's if for some reason it gets booked up with timed tickets. That is the #1 thing I want to see in Venice.
