Venice Tickets in Advance

I will be in Venice later this year -- what sites do I need to book advance tickets for? Thanks so much!

And any private tours or food tours that you want should be booked ahead of time, as well.

The Guggenheim can have something of a ticket line. I saw lines twice in September 2022 and decided just to buy an online ticket for a day or two later so I didn't have to waste time. I don't know that it sells out much ahead of time, though.

I walked right into the Accademia in September 2022, but I believe someone recently mentioned encountering a line there.

If you want to go up on the roof at the Fondaco dei Tedeschi to see the view, that's a ticket you must nail down ahead of time. Entry is free, but timed, and I have the impression you may have to get online really quickly when entries become available.

Lots of people seem to like the Secret Itineraries Tour at the Doge's Palace, and the English-language tours sell out earlier than the plain entry tickets.

The Fondazione Giorgio Cini requires a timed ticket, and I believe those are subject to sell-outs, though again not necessarily very far in advance. The situation may be different in September, when the foundation hosts the Homo Faber craft exhibition.

If there are any special restaurants you want to visit, making reservations before you travel might be a good idea. We were surprised to find out that our travel insurance offered a concierge service that made a couple of reservations for us.
