We are trying to buy tickets online to avoid the lines but the website that Rick Steves mentions in his book ( visitmuve.it) has only links to tours etc.
We were hoping to buy tickets and do a self-guided walk.
Is there some other place that I should be looking at?

I used the site and didn’t see tours only. It does look like tickets for the Doges Palace are only available through 31August right now. Look at veneziaunica.it, although it generally has groups of museums/sites with its’ offerings, but you can choose individual sites from there. I also went to Doges Palace website which took me to https://palazzoducale.visitmuve.it/. Looks like where you started, but choose tickets-far right and might find what you really want?

looking at visitmuve.com you have to order at least 10 tickets with time slots only. if i were you have Plan B ready with a tour if seeing them means that much. many changes since covid/pandemic and only allowing so many inside.

click plan visit, skip the line then place order. just to let you know about the skip line, you still have to go thru a security line like everyone else, go very early morning or late afternoon evening to bypass crowds.
