Venice - tickets ahead of time?

Hello, We're traveling to Venice after Rome in a couple of weeks. I purchased tickets ahead of time for a few places in Rome, as advised. Is that advisable in Venice also? I see that I can do that for the Doge's Palace, But I also saw we could just get the tickets at the Correr Museum easily for both places without having to wait in a long line. Also, what is the best time of day to go? We'll be there Monday afternoon, April 15, leaving Thursday morning.

Thanks,
Annette

You can book a timed entry/no wait for St Mark's for a few euros. We did that then did the Secret itineraries Tour right after we visited St Mark's. You can then stay in Doges Palace for as long as you like once Secret tour ends.

worked out very well

Our tour guide picked up the tickets at the Correr right before our tour. Didn’t take her long at all.
