Venice: Suggestions for great Cicchetti Bars

We're going to be in Venice in a few weeks and I'm looking for suggestions of your favorite cicchetti bars. This is our third time in Venice so we're going to work on getting lost rather than seeing the big sights. In a nutshell, we're not looking for those in any particular neighborhood, because odds are we'll be lost everywhere in a four day period! What are your favorites and why? Bonus points if you can name or describe a specific chcchetto that I MUST try.

I like the Osteria al Squero, on the Fondamenta Nani. You can take your food outside and eat while watching the gondola yard across the way. I particularly like the minced, herbed cod, and the artichoke.

If you buy Rick Steves, IT or Venice guidebook, he’ll have a map showing where his top picks are. They’re all nearby each other. Be sure to order the house wines which was less than a euro when I did this.
Make sure you have the latest editions for accuracy if you buy his guidebook. Often times restaurants and cafés are no longer in business after the latest edition goes into print. The Venice book comes out in Jan and the current 27th edition came out this month.

Yes, Al Squero in Dorsoduro is good, and further up the fondamenta is San Trovaso, also good. A word of warning, if you take your food outside, watch out for seagulls. They like cicchetti even more than you, are voracious and will take food right off your plate.
Plastic glasses are used outside, so plastique or esporto.

My B&B hosts suggested their favorite, dai Zemei in San Polo. It was very tasty and not expensive.
