I am looking to take a day trip from Venice in late November, and trying to decide between Verona/Padua and Bolzano/Castelrotto in the Dolomites region. Any suggestions on which would be a better choice? (We are also visiting Rome, Florence, Pisa, and Siena on this trip.)

We went to Venice as part of the Italy tour in 2006. We stopped in Verona-not particularly enthralling, unless you prefer shopping to spectacular views and being in nature. I went to Kastelruth/Castelrotto. I can only imagine in November it would be spectacular-but bring a winter coat, hat and gloves, be prepared to ski, maybe there will be enough snow???I'm not sure. But the village is a Tyrolean delight, with views of ski chalets. Good gelato in either place, good luck!
