Venice Shuttle - Shared Water Taxi

I have found a website, Venice Link, that shows you can buy a ticket for a shared water taxi from Venice Shuttle for 25 Euros that supposedly gets you to your hotel much faster than Alilaguna water taxis. Has anyone used this shared water taxi? Thanks...Pam

I have not used that service only the private one. But I did look at their stops on their website and they were not near my B&B I was staying at, so decided not to use them. I am recommending them to my friends who will be going to Venice for their 25th Anniversary since one of the stops are near the hotel they plan on staying at.

Yes, I am only considering this option because the shared taxi stops at the place near our hotel. My other choice is to use the ATVO bus from the airport to Piazzale Roma and then get a vaparetto down the Grand Canal. This is a much cheaper option and still fast. Pam

Pam, the shared water taxi may or may not be faster than the Alilaguna, depending on how long you have to wait for your fellow passengers on the share. The website says it can be up to 40 minutes. Of course, you can wait that long for the next scheduled Alilaguna too. but the taxi is certain to be more pleasant. After three rides on the Alilaguna we are done with those slow boats with the dirty windows. Fortunately for our next trip to Venice, we will arrive by train.

PPS,
Your comment above concerning using the bus and vaporetto is a painless way to go. We recently used it this past May. Purchased bus ticket from kiosk at airport, got on bus right outside, 20+ minute ride to the Piazzale Roma, walked across street to purchase vaporetto ticket / pass, got on vaporetto and in our case got off at Rialto Mercato. Entire process took maybe one hour.

If you buy the bus and vaporetto ticket as a single transaction, there is about a 1 euro discount. If you are buying a vaporetto pass, you can also buy with either a one-way or round trip bus transfer also discounted.
