[VENICE] Shared water taxi to the airport

Is there such a thing as a shared water taxi to the airport? If so, can someone recommend a reliable company. We have 2 people with 1 suitcase, 1 carry on each.

The water taxis have a set pricing structure and they can carry multiple people but any coordination of a "shared" ride would be on you. If you can find another couple to show up to the taxi stand on the dock at the same time and split the cost with they won't know and won't care. But the taxi drivers are not going to help you combine with other parties into a group because that would cost them (or another driver) a fare to the airport.

The water taxis are regulated just like land taxis and the price to the airport (about 140e) and you can pick up a taxi at most of the major dock areas or your hotel could probably arrange to have one pick you up nearer your hotel depending on where you are the height of the water.

Good luck,

hey hey tommy
venicelink.com
check under shuttle or water taxi for shared, read up and it's your decision. we've done the private taxi 4 times with our group of 4 friends, great way arriving & departing.

Get Your Guide is a reseller. They don’t actually run any tours or transfers but book with private companies so your cost thru them will always be higher
Unless you dig deep into the listing you have no idea who you are really booking with

Have you tried just booking with the official water taxi site?

hey hey tommy
we have used getyourguide 3 times, twice in paris and once in amsterdam. never had any issues and really liked the things we did.
as christine says a reseller which they find someone to take you at a higher price at times, people review bad and good/hit & miss with many activities, many looking for the best budget/cheapest nowdays.
issues do arrive with canals closed, “commute” traffic with so many boats on the grand canal (deliveries, fire/ambulance/police, arrivals/departures to anywhere and everywhere, festivals, private rentals that people order for tours, gondolas)
just relax and enjoy your privacy instead of packed vaporettos & alilagunas. get where you need to be,have a glass of prosecco, or sit at Harry’s bar for a bellini or a dry martini. we did cheers

hey hey tommy
we did not pay for extra bags. they help you on, put your bags up front and off you go. be sure to ask with getyourguide (if you do that one, says 1 piece per person), know where little office is in airport with your voucher.
keep name & address of hotel you’re staying at and closest stop. don’t know when this trip is and other cities/places you will travel to
couple things that may interest you:
schezzini.it
alessandro does a “bar tour/cichetti tour” about the wine, history and finger foods served. you will have to email him to reserve a spot with a small group ([email protected]) send message on website
walk the back canals of canareggio
gpsmycity.com/venice or any city you’ll be in
scroll down to many of the self guided tours
streaty.com/venice
check them or other cities you’re visiting
be prepared when roaming around some canals come to a dead-end into water, backtracking again to another alleyway. go with the flow while laughing, a city you get lost in. carry small euro bills (5, 10, 20 and coins - we keep in seperate pouch. have a great time and do come back with a “report” how things went

I just returned from Venice yesterday and had booked three taxis in advance for my group through venicelink.com and was very pleased with their service from our hotel on the Grand Canal to the airport. I thought the fare was reasonable (89 Euros--8 people plus luggage in each taxi).

@jeff thanks for that. That does sound reasonable and cheap too.

Do you know what they charge for extra suitcase?
