Venice, secret itineraies tour of Doges Palace

Does anyone know when and how to purchase tickets for this tour? Is this tour worthwhile for HS age girls and moms? We are a group of 9 people. We have 2 nites and 1 full day in Venice. What would be your top priorities to see or do or eat?

Thanks. we are staying on Venice Island. Niigel recommended a very interesting Jesuit Monastery for us to stay in and we are looking forward to it

I loved the tour. If you are going it in summer, be sure to take fans and water with you. It gets pretty hot up there under the roof. Try to see the San Marco Basilica between 11.30 and 12.30, when the mosaics are floodlit. Take the vaporetto (water bus) up and down the Grand Canal. Try to get seats in the very front and/or the very back, sit back and enjoy the view. Do it again after dark. Walk, walk, walk.

The tour is most worthwhile for a first visit to Venice as it gives you an appreciation of how the city gained its prominence. I booked the tickets online at http://www.vivaticket.it/evento.php?id_evento=409912&idt=566&op=museiCivici&Language=ENG Book the early morning English tour so that you can be in San Marco at 11:30 a.m. when the lights are turned on. I can't emphasize enough how different San Marco is when the lights are on the place changes from dingy to magical in an instant. Also, opt for the additional cost of viewing the mosaics close up and the square from above by buying the museum ticket (the behind the alter and treasury tickets can be skipped). Do download Rick's audio tour as they really make the visit worthwhile. There is a wonderful local restaurant (not touristy) near the square called San Zulian Trattoria (Campo della Guerra) reasonable, great food and wine, terrific service.
