Venice, Rome, Cinque Terre, and Positano

We are visiting these four places with two weeks to travel. What are your suggestions as to where to fly into, fly out of, which order to visit these four places, and how to travel...car/train/plane? Thank you so much!

Hi April - My friends and I did a trip to similar to yours last year. We flew into Rome and went to the Vatican our first day, then took the train to Venice, from Venice we took to train to Florence and hired a driver to take us to Cinque Terre for the day and we also included an afternoon bus tour to a winery in Tuscany, absolutely wonderful, from Florence we took a train to Naples and from Naples we were driven to Positano for five days. Very easy getting around the coast from there. We took a boat which you can just hop on from the beach and went to Capri one day and then each day we took the local bus to Sorrento, Amalfi, all very easy and all very affordable, less than 4 Euro's round trip. Also while your in Positano ask your hotel about the restaurant on top of the hill, they send a van for your party, round trip with a dinner that was just fabulous including wine and live entertainment all for 35 euros. You will definitely enjoy it! If you'd like any other information don't hesitate to conact me. Have fun. Rachelle

One option is to fly into Venice and take a train to Florence which is a major train hub, stay there and then take a train to the CT. From the CT travel to Rome and then to Amalfi Coast. You can then fly out of Naples or return to Rome to exit Italy. I'd recommend taking trains throughout your trip.
