We are arriving around noon on 2nd day and staying at Hotel Flora close to St. Mark’s. We will be having dinner the next night overlooking that portion of the Grand Canal, so would like to have lunch somewhere close to our hotel before we start exploring. I would appreciate any suggestions.
I recommend Al Chianti, which is very close to San Marco. I eat there whenever I visit Venezia and have never had a bad meal.
Thank you Carol! I am writing that down and seeing how to get there from our hotel!
Ristorante Rosa Rossa is 3 minutes from your hotel. We ate there 3 weeks ago and it was fabulous. Reservations required, as is usual for Italian restaurants.
Thank you! Unfortunately I can’t make lunch reservations as I really don’t know when we will be checked into our hotel. I guess we have to wing it and hope they can seat us.
I'd say, if you think you'll get to the hotel around noon, book for 1pm; arriving 30 minutes early won't matter much and if your table is already free, you will get seated.
And even if your room isn't ready, you will be able to leave your luggage at the hotel anyway.
