My husband and I want to go to the regatta in Sept, 2012 and want to rent an apartment. How far in advance should we book it? Is it a difficult time to find lodgings?

Hi Sheila, I would book about a year in advance. I am also planning to be in Venice for the regatta and plan to book my lodging about 12 mos in advance. This may be a tad too early but if you know for sure you're going to be there at that time, why not book well in advance to be assured that you'll get the hotel or b&b that you really want? For our last trip, I booked all of the lodging 10-12 months ahead of time and then re-confirmed the reservations about a month before we arrived. Have a great trip.
