Venice port to airport

Hi,
I am taking a cruise that ends in Venice on 7/21. I have an early flight out (9:40 am) and so can't use the ship transfers. Can anyone recommend a car service or the best way to get from the ship to the airport. I would need to be picked up around 6-6:30. I have a family of 5. Thanks for any help.

If your flight out of Venice is going to another city in Europe (and almost all are), then you only need to be at the airport about an hour in advance. That gives you plenty of time to take public transportation. From the cruise port, you take the People Mover monorail for 1E each to get to Piazzale Roma. Buy your tickets once you arrive at Piazzale Roma. From there you take a bus to Marco Polo Airport. You can pick from two bus companies - ATVO and ACTV. They cost about 2.50E to 3E, and leave every 20 to 40 minutes, per the RS book. He says "The ATVO is slightly faster and pricier." There's a private shuttle bus from Piazzale Roma to the airport, but it costs 50E for up to 8. www.trevisocarservice.com There doesn't appear to be any shuttle from the cruise port to the airport.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately we are flying directly to Atlanta so we have to be there two hours early.

What a shame to miss some time in Venice :-( What time is your ship scheduled to dock, Tracie?

Are you sure you'll be able to get off the boat that quickly? I've taken 2 cruises, and often times we can't get off until 9 or even 10 a.m.

Tracie, check your cruise itinerary to see what time your ship docks at Venice. It is usually about 7:00 am but no one can disembark for at least an hour after that while the ship & port folks do their paperwork. I don't see that you have the slightest chance of getting to the airport on time even if you arrange with the purser to let you off the ship with the first lot. Can you possibly change your flight arrangements, maybe have an overnight in Venice and leave the following morning?

We actually dock the day before at 2 pm. I have spoken with NCL and we are able to do an express walk off so that we can catch our early flight.
