We are going to Italy with our two teenagers and mostly have the itinerary down. We are now trying to decide between spending more time in Venice or Florence (5 nights total between both cities)
If you have brought your teens to these cities, which did they like most?
Five nights is too few to split between these 2 cities. I would pick one to spend the whole 5 nights and I believe there is more to see in Florence including a possible day trip to Pisa which the teens should like.
I have not been to Venice, but for what it's worth, Florence is full of college students and has a very youthful vibe, I think. Lots of shops/cafes/restaurants where students hang out. Lots of young people in museums. Everyone they are likely to encounter will probably speak some English.
Why not have your teens research each city and ask which interests them the most?
Where in your trip do these 5 nights fall?
Beginning, middle, end?
Are you flying in or out of either?
Is a Monday involved?
I do agree with above that 5 nights not really enough for those 2 locations
Minimum of 3 each is better
This falls at the end of our trip. Coming off time in Rome. We have Sat-Thursday to spend between Florence and Venice. . And we will be flying out of Venice so we do need to end up there eventually. I’ve asked them what they are interested in and after researching, my daughter is more drawn to Venice while my son is more drawn to Florence.
Venice is such a unique experience. The city buses are boats.
