Still considering my extra day in Venice or Dolomites. So I ask this my extra day is a Monday and from what I have read many things are closed on a Monday in Venice and surrounding areas. This will also be the day after the Regatta.

Hi Margaret. I am interested in an answer as to Monday's in Venice also. Is the Regatta the first weekend...September 5, 2010? We will be in Venice at that time.

ALmost all the mueseums will be open, public transport will run etc.
The Rialto Markets will be closed on Monday, so the old wives' tale was to not order fish on Monday in a restautant because it wou;dn't be fresh.
Venice will be fine on Monday.

Hi Marcia, yes the Regatta is on the Sunday. Actually I think it is celebrated on the Saturday too.
