We will be in Rome and will take the train to Venice..Any suggestions on Hotels close to the train station in Venice.
Just watched 2 shows with Rick Steves in Venice and enjoyed it so much..will also get a Rick Steves tour book on Venice
Thank you
Lorraine
We stayed at Hotel Florida next to the train station (and have reservations for a second visit in 2016.) Clean, good breakfast, helpful staff, vaporetto stop outside. Very reasonable for Venice.
Lorraine,
I would recommend going a little deeper into Venice if you want to experience the true character and wonder of this fine city. On my last visit, I found an apartment along a quiet canal (Rio Marin). The apartment was just far enough off the main tourist route to be quiet and quaint yet it was only 5 minutes from the train station and was surrounded by really fine and affordable restaurants. Since you appear to be spending 4 or 5 nights in Venice, you might want to look into an apartment instead of a hotel room.
Good luck,
Todd
I also wonder why near the train station. I have been 3 times, always stayed in the Dorsoduro and never regretted it. Very easy to get around with luggage on the vaporetto. Just pick a place that doesn't require crossing bridges from the vaporetto stop.
Hotel Guerrini
My wife and I love this place. Book Early!!!!!!
Hotel Ca'Angeli is very easy to get to and extremely well=located.
