During a longer stay in Florence, I will spend two days in Venice. Are the Venice night tours worth the time? If they provide something new, great. If they just are 'look at the pretty buildings in the dark' I can do that on my own. I don't remember reading anything about them in RS Italy. Thanks!
Which tour are you referring to?
Hi Lisa, thanks for responding. Here is the link: http://www.housesinvenice.com/guided-visits/venice-shadows.htm A tour like this or anything similar to it. Venice is beautiful by night (I was there last year), but I'm not sure if specifically staying up for this type of tour is worth it.
60 euros a person seems pretty pricey to me for a two hour tour. I find it really hard to believe it would be worth it, but I'm fairly tight with our money. BTW, I get a kick out of translations from Italian into English, particularly when they try to translate the Italian word "suggestivo". It means picturesque, charming or evocative, but it almost always gets translated into "suggestive", (e.g. from that website: "Venice after dark is extremely suggestive.") ;-)
I'm not sure what is covered in the night tours that would be different, but I am curious about the Venice ghost tour. That sounds like it would at least be entertaining and perhaps travel to some different areas as well as only around $30 euros. Has anyone gone on this tour? I also see there is a ghost tour in Florence and wondered about this?
