Venice- Musica a Palazzo at the Barbargio Minotto Palace

Has anyone attended a concert at the Musica a Palazzo at the Barbargio Minotto Palace in Venice. If so, how did you enjoy it, was it worth it as the web site says it is 70 Euro a ticket and how did you get to the Palace. What was the performance like as it states it is in three different rooms?

Thank you for your responses.

We attended an opera in an old palace advertised by Musica a Palazzo (Barber of Sevilla). I had forgotten the exact name of the palace. The price was about the same as the one that was quoted to you. It was staged in three different rooms and was very enjoyable-rooms and entrance lit by candles. We located it earlier in the day in order to arrive on time--it was most definitely not easy to find--is anything easy to find in Venice? The hotel had brochures on the concert and they helped us locate the palace. This is a great opportunity to see the interior of an old palace-so old that the floors sloped. Another chance to see more interiors is Casa Rezzonico Museum. Hope you have a great trip to Venice!

If your going to drop 70 euro on a ticket, why not try the real thing at La Fenice. La Fenice is a rebuild, (the original burned down in the 90's, rumored by the mafia), but was carefully restored to original splendor. Downside, supertitles are in Italian!?

The other down side with La Fenice is that it sells out quickly and 70 euros only gets you a pretty lousy seat, if memory serves.

Here's a good website for you to explore other opera options in Venice: Venice Opera

We attended last December for La Traviata. Same place you mention here. I enjoyed it, my 16 year old daughter did not, but only because she decided opera is not for her.
I've been to SF Opera for a few performances over the years, and this was an interesting opera evening of a different kind. It was nice to have the singers up close and intimate.
The "palace" is a bit run down, but in a way it adds to the charm. You start off in one room, have a break with refreshments, move to another, etc. Each room fits to what scene is being performed. There are somewhat comfortable chairs arranged in each room. It's not a very large crowd, so makes it even more intimate. Musicians move from room to room as well.
I didn't have any problems finding it, but we left early just in case.
I felt it was worth it. We are going back to Venice this week, and I would have gone again but since the kiddo does not want to, we will be doing something else.

The advantage of the opera in the palazzo is they do it 6 nights a week---performing the same three operas two time each. You can see Rigoletto, Barber of Seville, or La Traviata. With La Fenice, you may or may not find an opera on during your stay there, sometimes they go a week or more without one. And you may not want to see what they are doing.
