Venice Marco Polo Airport ATM

Can anyone tell me if the ATM's in the arrivals hall and baggage claim are the bancomat ATM's and not the Euronet or other foriegn currency exchange ATM's?

When I look at the map of the airport there's one Bancomat and several ATM's. I'm trying to figure out which one to use.

Bancomat is a network of Italian Banks, not just the Italian translation of ATM. Look for the Bancomat Logo on the machine or on the touch screen

When were were there 4 years ago, there was a bancomat between the baggage pickup and the exit. It will be on your right as you walk to the doors.

I was there in September and came across two in the baggage claim and water taxi areas. They were both Euronet. I withdrew a small amount and waited until I got to Venice for a larger withdrawal.

hey hey doogie
don't know the answer to that, i know in 2019 at CDG (paris) 99% were euronet with big fees.
i decided to get 200E in small bills here in california before we went. the cost "fee" was not that much and i was happy to have them. with the euro being as low as i've ever seen it, i went to wells fargo and got them that day or if you have a credit union or AAA to order before you go. another thing is that had 2 ATM's one was broken "out of order" the other had a long line with frustration on people's faces. how much money is there really in them?
so nice to get off plane and walk right to our private water taxi, paid online before. those euros lasted a few days in venice and made sure any ATM i got money from was at a bank in case anything happened.
your decision, enjoy venice

Thank you Princess, that was helpful. I guess as long as the atm is marked Bancomat or The other Euronet style I should be able to figure it out.

We were in Italy a few years ago, right before the pandemic actually. We went to this remote town called Petritoli. A place like stepping back in time, and they had a Bancomat ATM. I also did change money before I went that time too and it worked out for us.

I think I'll change 200-250 euro and if I need more I'll hit the ATM.

My advice is go ahead and try and see what the fees are. Yes, Euronet will charge you a use fee, but that is getting more and more common with even bank ATMs in Europe, especially in tourist areas. If the fee is 3 or 4 euro on 200 euro, big deal, you will at least get cash. You may also be prompted for DCC, but just decline. It cost you nothing to start a transaction, see the cost, and decline or cancel if you don't like it.

Getting Euros in the US, in the range of 200 euro, will likely cost you $10 in either fees or exchange rate.
