VENICE lodging and transportation

We will be spending 3 days in Venice in late September and want to know if anyone has had good luck with a 1 bedroom/1 bath AirBnB apartment that would be near a lot of the sites and that would be reasonably priced. I see some of these apartments on the AirBnB site but am wary about who is really reviewing them and if they are really legit. I guess I trust the Rick Steves community a lot more. There are 3 things that we absolutely want in an apt. (besides location and cleanliness).....private bathroom, reliable wifi and air conditioning.

Once I get our apartment I will need to know how to get from Marco Polo airport to our lodging.

Thank you for any input you can give to me.

Can't help you selecting your airbnb. As far as transport, I'd recommend getting a 72 hour vaporetto pass with a one way airport bus adder (assuming you are moving on by train or bus). Cost is 46 Eur per person, (40 for the vaporetto and 6 for a single bus ride from the airport to Piazzale Roma, where you get vaporettos to anywhere else in Venice. Of course if you are going back to the airport, another 6 EUR adder for the bus back.

Can anyone please let me know if the high speed train Frecciargento 9400 from Roma Termini goes straight to the Venezia Santa Lucia station or do I have to get off at the Padova station and get on another train to get to Venezia Santa Lucia? Thank you so much.

What is reasonably priced to you? For me, reasonably priced is around $100 a night, for others, it’s $150 a night.

We’ve stayed at Al Campaniel on 4 of our stays...they do have an apartment you could look into. (We’ve stayed in a room). http://alcampaniel.tripod.com/

On our other stay, we used this Airbnb in San Polo. Not too far a walk from Rialto. https://www.airbnb.ca/rooms/1683211?adults=4&source_impression_id=p3_1581029312_uODtT0pNLuYxN0y3

Nice little apartment. Kitchen was a bonus. We needed the extra bed (which was a pull out couch) as my mom was travelling with us.

@ha.nguyen395. For the day I am looking at (Feb 20), FA 9400 goes to Venezia S. Lucia.

We have stayed at an apartment in Venice in Dorsoduro. If you google Fondamenta Briarti, the location comes up on google maps.

We have stayed there three times, for about sixty nights in total. The apartment works well for us, good kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine, air con, a secluded courtyard and about five minutes walk to a Conad supermarket on the Zattere. Distances in Venice for visitors hauling luggage are frequently expressed in bridges. The apartment is five minutes and one bridge from the San Basilio vaporetto stop, ten to fifteen minutes and two bridges from the Ca’ Rezzonico vap stop on the Grand Canal.

Lucia who manages the apartment is good to deal with. If you are interested, you might tell her that Peter from Australia recommended it.

Google “Homeaway 6142339” to find it.

Last September we stayed at Dreaming Venice apt thru booking.com. Loved the apt and great location. We also used VRBO with good luck in Florence.
