Venice leaders roll back reported trolley suitcase ban

Nothing to worry about. See the following:

Venice leaders roll back reported trolley suitcase ban

I thought I would post this as its own topic because the existing threads aren't being read completely and some people are mistakenly thinking the proposed ban is more restrictive than it actually is.

Thanks, Micheal.

As one lady pointed out, the ban was on the vendor carts. A local paper picked the story up & added to it. International papers took off with the story.

Thanks for sharing. It seemed an unlikely story given the mere fact that such a ban on luggage would be near impossible to enforce. Hopefully the story has begun the race for the million dollar idea of damage-less luggage wheels.

@Michael. I think you should change the title of this post to "Venice denies false media reports of trolley suitcase ban".
Never trust the media to report correctly, especially on events in a different language.

Okay, this seems like a perfect time for Rick Steves to get to work on changing the wheels on his wheeled luggage. (which I have and use constantly). If anybody has the motivation to do it, it should be Rick. I know he is an environmentally friendly guy!

RS folks please keep us informed.

Makes no difference to me whether they ban rolling bags or not. I didn't care for Venice and don't plan to return.
