Venice Italy canal front

Hello, we are planning our 20th anniversary trip for May 2027 and are looking for a place in Venice to stay for 4–5 nights. We would love a place located on a canal where a gondola or water taxi can dock right at are own private entrance. If anyone has recommendations, we would greatly appreciate them. Thank you!

Have a look at the American Hotel Dinesen - a traditional but modernised hotel in quieter Dorsoduro.

There is a modern annexe, so be sure to specify a canal view room in the older part, decorated in traditional Venetian stlye..

Short walk to the Accademia vaporetto stop, the Peggy Guggenheim, and many "local" restaurants and bars.

For our 20th, we stayed at Al Ponte Antico. Beautiful hotel with patio views of the Rialto Bridge. Has it's own dock as well.

hey hey mgtyquin
happy to see you're planning early since may can begin high season even though italy has become so busy all year long, no low season anymore.
at one time we looked at palazzina veneziana but was booked. they have canal views with balcony also. it can get very loud and crowded on the grand canal all day and night with boats of every kind use it. since it's over a year out, you may get "no rooms available" since calendars not up for 2027.
email hotel with questions, if you can book with them, what room, and cost/rate per night. hopefully you will find something suitable for your anniversary. good luck & enjoy

Last fall I stayed at the Hotel Pesaro Palace directly on the Cannaregio side of the Grand Canal. I liked it so much that I'm staying again this coming fall. It has a private dock (I splurged and got a water taxi from the airport), a tragetto stop right around the corner (for easy access across the Canal), and the Cal D'0ro vaporetto stop is right in front of the hotel. The staff was delightful, the included breakfast is yummy, the room was very clean and quiet, and there is a lovely shaded garden attached to the hotel with lots of seating.

Enjoy your trip!

Hello Thanks for the info. When you say your own private dock does your unit walk right out to it or do you have to go through the hotel to get to it. TIA
