It's a seven minute walk from the dock to the terminal. There are shuttles you can use at an extra cost if needed. We took a water taxi from Venice to the airport and we had suitcase and a carry on each. No problems.

A water taxi ride in the early morning to the airport will cost 90E-110E ($117-$143) for up to six people with luggage. Your hotel can arrange this ride. Many travelers do this as their planes depart very early. If your plane departs at 8:00am or later, you can easily take the vaporetto (water bus) to the Piazzale Roma and take a 20-minute bus ride to the airport (3E-4E). The buses begin their runs at 5:00am. Your choice.

Jackie, I agree with an earlier post that water taxi might not be the best transportation. I took my mom to Venice in 2006 and she uses a wheelchair. We took the vaporetto to the Piazzale Roma and from there a taxi to the airport, about a 25 minute ride if I remember correctly. Depending on your mobility, the taxi or bus might work out better than a water taxi [INVALID] I know I could not have gotten my mom's chair into or out of a water taxi due to steps down inside.

Not really - just did it three weeks ago. The airport is small. It's a sidewalk, with a curb and the dock has steps down to the boats tho. Takes maybe five minutes to walk it.
