Can you suggest Good Hotel options around the Grand Canal central location in Venice.
We would like stay on the water first time in Venice 2 nites 3 or 4 star hotel preferred
Thank you so much,
Marilyn
The Grand Canal is very busy, the vaporettos are loud, so sometimes actually being on the Grand Canal isn't optimal. Would you consider a quieter back canal? You will probably need air conditioning in May.
We love the Cannaregio area, no crowds, yet a ten minute walk to the nearest vaporetto stop.
Look at booking.com for your research, but book directly for the best price.
How many in your group? Have a great trip!
hey hey marilyn
can you be more specific on "good hotel" around grand canal? the stars* of hotel is for amenities they have not good or bad. (free breakfast, elevator so not to be climbing stairs/steps with luggage, activities, 1* meaning basics and 5* meaning luxury. location, budget in euros, how many people, etc)
staying on the grand canal is a very busy "highway" of all kinds of boats and can be very noisey. stay on a side canal with water views.
read all the fine print and reviews of the hotel you looking at, check in is usually 3-4pm and check out is 10-11am which cuts down on time spent roaming around the island.
your 2 nights will be evening part of first night, all day of second day and early morning of third day.

put in your dates, and left side has filters to weed out what you want and see what they are offereing. you can always come back and asked the forum here for their advice about good or bad.
been there 4 times and always had a good time just roaming around, getting lost and backtracking. if you plan on seeing attractions book ahead of time with website, usually time slots/dates. with the way travel is nowdays there doesn't seem to be an off season anymore. just be prepared for crowds, especially big and crowded cities. walk the back canals, lots to see. have fun

There are two of us limited time in Venice.arrive midday May 20 then leave the May 22 in the am.
Location and easy access to walk or take water taxi visit the
major sites. I am looking for clean, great location hotel not too old..Grand Canal is okay or side canal too. Would be great to have good restaurant.Any names of hotels to check would be very helpful
Thank you Marilyn
I think you are confusing vaporetto (water bus) with a private, expensive water taxi.
Read the above Search to better understand the various water transfers in Venice.
We love the Hotel Ai Mori D'Oriente right on a back canals in the Cannaregio area. There are no crowds here, just beautiful and peaceful small canals.
Have a great trip.
Although it's not a 3 or 4 star hotel, I like the Foresteria Levi guesthouse. It's right on the Grand Canal (the rooms are further back on the property, so it's not noisy, although I've never thought that the Canal was very noisy at night) near the Accademia Bridge--great spot for crossing the Canal and easy to get anywhere you want to reach rather conveniently. I'll be staying there again at the end of May. Here's the website: https://www.foresterialevi.it/en/
