Venice in February?

We are planning a trip to Italy the first week of February. Is the weather in Venice too cold or miserable to enjoy this time of year?

Sorry Patti, couldn't resist. No matter what it is it will probably be better than Cedar Rapids. ;-) But seriously, the forecast high for Venice tomorrow is 45 with a low of 36. I think you folks are looking at 20 and 3 for the low. We have not been in February but usually in the first week in March and the weather has been ok. Cold or cool in the evening and in the 50s during the day, most of the time. the best time tioo enjoy Venice is when you can get there. If that week is it, then go and plan on ducking into a cafe for an expresso.

I won't hold your comment against you, Ron. Thanks for the encouraging words. Of course, you're right, how bad can it be if we are in Venice.

It really is hit or miss. We got to Carnivale most years and I can remember years when it was so bitterly cold that we had to keep ducking into bars for a drink just to warm up. I can also remember years when it was so warm that I stripped down to a light sweater or sweatshirt.
