Venice in early March

We are headed to Rome and Florence next month and are wanting to add Venice in, but aren't sure if they're still rather affected by flooding and maybe we should go back another time?

Also, I know we will be there during the carnivale so any insight on that would be great!

The devastating floods are far behind us, but Venice’s high tides will always be present at some time or another. With Carnivale your biggest worry should probably be actually finding an available room you can afford.

If you are there in March, no need to worry about carnevale...it ends February 25th this year.

As far as acqua alta goes, no way to tell this far in advance, as it depends on winds as well as tides.

Thank you so much! We fly into Rome on Feb 25th and were considering Venice at the later part of the week and then on to Florence. Just weren't sure what to expect with the tides.

By March, the acqua alta season is just about ended. You might see puddles in the Piazza if the tide is higher than 70cm, but that is nothing to worry about.
