Hello. Are there any smaller museum houses in Venice that capture how a typical Venetian merchant family lived?
This might help:

It may not be exactly what your are looking for but you could see some palazzos.
Thank you, I appreciate the response. You're right it's not quite right, I suspect that this sort of experience will elude us. We enjoy visiting historic homes, typically belonging to merchant families. I'll ask around when we arrive in Venice.
Hi Daryl, Please let us know if you find answers to your question! I tried doing a bit of research, but could find only palaces which once belonged to patrician families.
I did not find anything like this unfortunately, nor in Florence, which we also visited. It appears Italy only focuses on the lifestyles of the rich and famous... It's a great shame. We were overwhelmed by the depth and amount of great art and architecture. But it would be splendid if we could explore the day-to-day life of the masses, who also contributed to this wonderful culture.
The Ca' Rezzonico is a merchant's mansion on the Grand Canal filled with 17th & 18th century furniture showing how such a merchant family lived.
The Goldoni museum might be worth considering. Also the Querini Stampalia Foundation.
