I hear the Danieli is very nice.

My 22y/o daughter and I enjoyed Locando S. Barnaba steps from Grand Canal Line 1 Vaporetto Ca'Rezzonico stop. You are in the Dorsoduro section one small bridge away from the bars at Campo Santa Margarita frequented by the university students, so less touristy but not rowdy, a more youthful Venice feel.

Pensione Guerrato is not on the canal, but is less than a block from the canal in the Rialto area. Two minute walk to vap. stop. Can give specific short cut directions to get there if you decide to stay with them. We've stayed at Guerrato many times and will do so again.

Venice can be ferociously expensive. What's your budget?
