Hey Joe, I have been taking students to Europe the past 30 years and my number 1 thing is getting lost at night. I jump on a Vaparettos with no idea where to go and get off at a stop and have the kids take turns decided how to get home. Venice at night is soooo different and what you see is wonderful. My students always say that was the highlight trying to get home. Nyou can't get lost, on an island, and signs to Rialto and San Marco are everywhere. Good luck, also a visit to the Jewish Ghetto is interesting. First Jewish ghetto in Europe and tallest structures in Venice are there. Enjoy
La Fenice
Cross the Grand Canal by traghetto. Eat 3 different flavors of gelato every day. The Secret Itineraries Tour at the Doge's Palace is very interesting. Small group so the girls can ask questions. It gives a glimpse of real life back in the day. If you want to see the Ghetto (and learn about life back then), take the tour (from the Jewish Museum). Not available on Friday afternoons and Saturdays.
