I have reservations at a few places and trying to make final decision. I have read reviews for all 3 ...and really seem pretty happy with all 3. We are sensitive to noise at night. Otherwise, comfortable beds, basic breakfast, good coffee and that's all we need: Hotel Noemi, Dimora Marciana or Locanda Art Deco. I read 1 review for Locanda indicating evening noise with cafessince it was only 1 review...trying to weigh whether a concern. The other 2, while closer to San Marco Square, sound like they would still be quiet. Have you stayed at any of these? Thanks.
Every place in Venice shuts down early. Even a wild and crazy party place (for Venice) like the Paradiso Perdutto is locked up by midnight. I would not be too concerned by a single review, (that way, you know they're not fakes).
It really is surprising how quiet Venice gets at night. Chalk a huge part of it up to the absence of cars. But take earplugs just in case.
When are you going? Carnevale?
That's the only time I'd be concerned.
We spent a week in Venice early September 2012 and it was indeed quiet at night especially away from San Marco Square. We go to Europe every summer for a month and ALWAYS travel with good ear plugs, just in case there is noise at night.
Thank you all. We will be there early October and decided on the Locanda Art Deco. I'll let you know how it goes...
