Venice hotel with elevator?

We need an elevator, and would like to stay in a centrally located hotel/inn/B&B in Venice. I want to avoid the luxury hotels, and I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a budget or moderate hotel with an elevator. Somewhere near the Grand Canal or a short walk from San Marco would be wonderful. Thanks in advance.

Several years ago we stayed at Hotel Campiello. It was OK with a mediocre breakfast but it did have an elevator and was fairly close to San Marco. Looks like they may have renovated and raised their rates. Worth a look. Good luck.

Hi Sherry, In 2006 we stayed at the Hotel Belli Arti near the Accademia only because it has an elevator. While you may not consider it central, it was a short walk from the Accademia vaporetto stop and there were no bridges in between. Our room was very small and the staff were not friendly but just like you we had to have the elevator since my mom is in a wheelchair. If you find one closer to San Marco great, but if not check it out.

Stayed at Casa Verardo in Dec. 2010, used the elevator. Close to the vaporetto stop for Zecharia ( San Marco). Nice place, and I'd recommend it. I booked a room with a canal view. Lovely breakfast room and outside living room for relaxing. Near two of RS's recommended restaurants plus "sandwich row".
