I’m in search of accomodations in Venice for 3 nights prior to the Village Italy tour (9/11-14/2024) that starts in Padua. Solo traveler, nothing fancy, prefer good location, away from touristy area, nice and clean. I did a search prior to posting this and see some hotels of interest - Pensione Guerrato, Hotel al Ponte Mocenigo, Hotel Flora. I’ll be coming in from Milan (MXP). Thank you.
I’m on the Village Italy tour beginning Sept 2. Also a solo traveler. I am staying 5 nights in Venice pre-tour, staying at B&B Corte Campana. There are only three rooms so if you’re interested, book ASAP; booked my room in November. I stayed there in 2022 and loved it, great people, quiet, close to San Marco.
If you’re in Venice on Sunday Sept 1, it the annual Historical Regatta.
I strongly second the suggestion for staying at B&B Corte Campana, we stayed there in 2022 before the Village Italy tour and loved it. We were also very glad we spent a couple of days in Padua before the tour started.
We stayed last April at Hotel Flora and really enjoyed it. It is in a touristy area, about a 10 minute walk from St.Mark's Square. However, it is tucked back into an alley, so there is very little noise. The hotel also has a beautiful garden where you can have breakfast in the morning or relax in the afternoon.
I have stayed at Pensione Guerrato and Hotel al Ponte Mocenigo. Pensione Guerrato is very close to the Rialto Market. I believe it does NOT have an elevator (if that is important to you). Hotel al Ponte Mocenigo does have an elevator and a small outdoor terrace for eating breakfast. It is located in a quiet area, steps from the San Stae vaporetto stop with no bridges to go over. If you need to go to the train station, this hotel's location might be better -- minimal walking, #1 vaporetto to the train station (~15 minutes).
Thank you all for your responses. I've check B&B Corte Campana - unfortunately no availability (I like the look of this place). Hotel Flora same. Hotel Guerrato - has room on 3rd floor (60 steps) - I'm in good shape but that seems like a lot of steps to climb. Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo - has a Junior Suite. Update - I've booked a room at Ai Tagliapietra that B&B Corte Campana Venezia recommended. So far so good - Lorenzo is friendly, helpful and informative. https://www.aitagliapietra.info/
We stayed at the Hotel Ai Mori D'Oriente in the Cannaregio area- very quiet area, on the back canals, quite beautiful.
Good luck!
I found a room at the Hotel Fontana.
Have you considered https://www.monasterystays.com/ ?
I have stayed at https://madonnadellortorooms.com/en/ twice. Simple accommodations with breakfast. Very reasonable rates. Some rooms have shared bathrooms.
