Venice - Hotel room with a balcony

Looking for advice/recommendations for a 3/4/5 star hotel that would have a private balcony overlooking a canal from the room. Ending our Italian trip in the Spring in Venice and would like to find a special hotel. We were in Lucerne a year ago, and loved spending time on our private balcony over looking the river. Loved it! Thanks for your input!

Hotel American Dinesen has rooms with balconies over a side canal. http://www.hotelamerican.it/ We haven't stayed there but walked by and it looked charming. The location (in Dorsoduro) is great.

Hotel Marconi...near the Rialto Bridge has a couple of rooms with tiny balconies that overlook the Grand Canal. If you want an apartment try the beautiful studio on the Grand Canal..... http://www.cortetiepolo.com/

We did stay at Hotel American Dinesen and loved it. It was our favorite hotel of our Italy trip. The staff were great & so was the breakfast. Not all the rooms have a balcony but I think you can specifically request one when booking (for a price of course!). We loved the area. It was about 15 min walk from San Marco area, but we prefer not to be right in tourist areas. Also if you stay at least 3 nights there is a pretty good discount.

In December, I am staying in a nice hotel on a small canal, where only 2 rooms face the canal, and one has a balcony (room number 5). It is the annex building of Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo. It is a RS recommemded hotel with great reviews on tripadvisor. The hotel looks great. You wont find pictures of the room on the hotel's website but you will find some pictures posted by reviewers on tripadvisor. http://www.alpontemocenigo.com/index.htm
