We will be arriving in Venice by train from Florence and have an 8 am flight when we depart. I did have us booked at Hotel Flora, but now I am concerned about getting to the airport in the early morning as I research it more. Seems like it might be a hassle. The winter schedule for the Alilaguna does not appear to start early enough to get us to airport. I don't really want to pay for a water taxi so maybe land taxi best for early morning instead of ATVO bus? Hotel suggestions? 5 adult travelers - no walking issues and we travel light. Thank you!

We stayed near Piazzle Roma at www.hotelarlecchino.com.
It's within sight of the ATVO buses back to the airport, so easy. Nice rooms and a good breakfast. I would stay there again.

An 8 am flight should not be a transatlantic flight, but one to another European city, or connecting there. In that case, you don't need to be there earlier than 6 am, and even then, it will leave you with plenty of shopping time.

A land taxi would have to start at the Piazzale Roma, same as the ATVO bus - so the question would be, how easy is it to get to the Piazzale Roma? There is a night vaporetto, so I think you’d be ok.
