Hello,
My wife and I are stopping over in Venice for 2 nights on the way to Israel. I know this is not a lot of time but do you guys have hotel/itinerary recommendations?
We will be going in July.

Pensione Guerrato - inquire about one of their apartments. They are typically in neighborhoods off the tourist path which affords a quieter and more "local" type of experience. That has been our experience. Expect it to be very warm and crowded in July. If you are interested in Murano/Burano I would suggest an early morning departure. Piazza San Marco could be less crowded in late afternoon after some of the cruise ships have departed. Cruising the Grand Canal is always memorable but often very crowded. If you do not anticipate ever returning then I recommend a gondola ride. But again, do this late in the day.
