Venice Grand Canal Cruise - Audio Tour Backwards

Staying near San Marcos square and just steps from the San Zaccaria stop which is at the end of the Rick Steve's audio tour. Has anyone tried to listen to the audio tour backwards? Is that really even possible? Maybe Rick made one in reverse order and I cant find it? Any help on this topic would be very appreciated.

This is actually pretty easy. At the beginning of all the Rick Steves audio guide tours, he explains that the tour is broken into chapters. At the bottom of the app, click on the icon that looks like it has lines with dots to the left of them. You'll see each chapter. You can scroll to the bottom, and voila, play the San Zaccaria part of the tour. then go back and play the next to last, San Marco, and so on. I bit manual, but it works!

Or you could just make it a round trip. Observe and absorb the beauty of the place in route to P. Roma and then become enlightened on the way back.

TC has the best approach, in my opinion. It's hard to see the Grand Canal while you're listening to the audio and learning about it. So, consider it as two "passes" - one to look, and one to learn.

I enjoyed the audio guide riding from the train station to St Marks. I was not on the recommended vapporato, mine did not make every stop, and it was quite easy to listen to selected pieces since it is designed to be stopped and restarted at each stop.

Sit in the front of the boat, it is a grand canal! Enjoy the trip!

We took the Grand Canal tour in the early evening before dark starting from the train station and thoroughly enjoyed it. Fun returning in the dark with Venice lit up. Great tour minus RS version of Volare. We walked back part way. Rialto Bridge had great view and few people. We also took a day vaporeto pass the following day and got on and off at will. Great way to see Venice. Another note. RS is right about getting up early. At 8:30 AM there were 10 people in St. Mark's square and we had the Duomo to ourselves.
