The "Travel Man" TV show highlighted a Venice rowing school, where two people can get a rowing lesson for 90 minutes for less than a 30 minute gondola ride. On-line reviews are positive. Has anyone here tried this? [We have been to Venice before, so have done Venice 101.] The school is near where we are staying in the Cannaregio. I look forward to your feedback.
We did it in 2015, it was great!
We were in a quiet area with little boat traffic. It was a great way to get on the water in a small boat without those high prices.
We were with RowVenice... https://rowvenice.org/
I loved the Row Venice experience. We got to row as much as we wanted and learned about the traditions. We did the evening one that included 2 stops for drinks and cichetti, it was delightful! Besides being a lot of fun it let us connect a bit with locals in some of the quieter parts of the city and it was an experience that most visitors to Venice don’t seek out. Money well spent.
We did this in February and very much enjoyed it. It's harder than it looks, but the instructor is very patient and helpful. I loved being out on the boat in an uncrowded area.
